Our Environmental impact
Polymer clay classifies as a plastic.
The founder is knowledgeable about both national and EU strategies aimed at reducing air and sea pollution. Marisa, with expertise in developing policies to address ship-generated pollution and holding a professional certification in assessing the energy efficiency of buildings, is fully aware of her duties. Her main focus is on supporting the NGO Zibel. The amount of plastic collected by this organization during clean-ups exceeds the plastic used in making jewelry from polymer clay.
This NGO organizes several beach clean-ups across the island. With the donation given, a lot more plastic is collected than the amount the company creates. Last year’s donation contributed to adding a waste collection bin in a bay. These bins can be used by anyone to dispose of ocean plastic, Styrofoam, fishing gear, and ropes found on the coast. It is certain that with the donation, more plastic is being collected than what is being produced by the company. Learn more about this NGO at: www.zibel.org
At Peprin, we believe in the responsible use of materials and the importance of longevity in our products. By creating high-quality, durable jewelry, we ensure that each piece is not only a beautiful addition to your collection but also a step towards reducing the demand for disposable plastic items. Our commitment extends beyond our products to our practices, as we continuously seek ways to minimize our environmental impact and support the community. We hope that our efforts inspire others to think about sustainability in all aspects of life, from the materials they choose to the actions they take.
Our packaging is also all paper-based. Read more about it in the following post.
