a happy little Elf at Fairy Land Malta

Preparations began way before the opening day, the 7th of December 2023. I had to anticipate how many clients would buy from my little business, and so I had been very busy making stock for almost 3 months before (apart from all the effort throughout the year)! It was not only about the stock but thinking of how to light up the chalet and attractively decorate it with the colours of my brand. So I had been looking online for decorations and running from one Christmas shop to the other to find the best supplies that would give you a good experience. Even the shelves, which in summer were in black, I sprayed (or rather made my boyfriend spray them) in white so that they would blend even better with the setup - a glitch into furniture repurposing maybe…? My mum helped me set up the space, and it took us around 5 hours to complete! But yes very much worth the effort.

The days were long, but never a dull moment. Apart from being a great opportunity for us artisans to spend more time with one another, it felt great watching you all appreciating my things and awing when noticing the floral pieces. Speaking of which, I had to re-stock them twice while I was there! The top collections were: the Pebbles Collection followed by Agape and Amaryllis! Yet there wasn’t a single collection which I wasn’t worried that it would be sold out! Thus, means that you are welcoming open heartedly all of my creations!

I also had a very obedient and quiet assistant, my mum. A character most of you love. We took this as an opportunity to bond a little bit more together. After all, I got this small business vendor passion from her. When I was a child we used to set up my father’s pickup van during the village festa and spend the day selling plants!

… and besides, just in case you were wondering the very long brand-matching, and cosy beanie that I was wearing especially in the evenings, was also handmade. Lovingly hand crocheted by my mum!

My participation wouldn’t have been possible if the Malta Crafts Foundation hadn’t worked hard to secure some stall spaces for us artisans during the event, and if they had not all accepted me as a vendor with potential products for sale.
